OPERATIVE MODES
4.1
HIGHLIGHTED SONG AND SELECTED SONG
Before describing the various operative modes, we have to make a
preliminary statement about the display and the cursor.
The meaning of the items and the symbols visualized on the display are
different for each mode:
◆
in SINGLE PLAY mode the titles of the songs or the names of other files
contained on the hard disk are visualized;
◆
in GROUP PLAY mode the names of the groups are visualized;
◆
in UTILITY mode the functions are visualized.
The CURSOR buttons on the right side of the display allow you to position
the cursor on one of the item which can be selected.
An example: when the titles of the songs listed on a page of the SINGLE
PLAY menu are visualized on the display, you can highlight the desired song by
means of the CURSOR buttons.
Now the highlighted song can be:
◆
put in PLAY mode by means of the PLAY button (7),
or
◆
selected by means of the SELECT soft key (6).
It is important to understand the difference between “highlighted song” (i.e.
that on which the cursor is positioned) and “selected song” (i.e. that or those
chosen by means of the SELECT function).
As we will see later on, before being selected a song has to be highlighted,
i.e. chosen with the cursor, and then selected by means of the SELECT soft key.
