Introduction
Operators may occasionally need to trouble-
shoot book quality issues. These quality issues
are addressed by either changing machine set-
tings or replacing knives. Machine settings may
require adjustment to be compatible with the
type of paper and cover being used. Knives and
cut sticks/cut plates may require replacement
because they are consumable items. Most qual-
ity issues are resolved by changing the knives
and cut stick/plates.
Other quality issues such as accuracy and
square should be referred to an authorized tech-
nician because they involve service repairs or
adjustments, which are outside the scope of an
operator's training.
