INSTALLATION

The following installation procedures are recommended by the manufacturer,
however, it is the res pons ibility of the ins talling contractor to comply with all
applicable codes, laws , and regulations of all relevant governing authorities having
jurisdiction. Pleas e refer to Appendix A for further details on the ins tructions
provided in this section.
Delivery Checklist
1. Remove packaging and ins pect the unit. Check for s hipping damage or material
s hortage; file a freight claim and notify your s ales representative if damage or
deficiency is found.
2. Verify the model.
3. Verify that the power s upply complies with the nameplate s pecification.
4. Reins tall card board s leeve on unit to protect during construction.
Installation Procedure
1. This heat pump unit is to be ins talled within an indoor environment. Locate
the unit in an area where the s urrounding air temperature is above 45°F (7°C)
at all times . Do not attempt to locate the unit in an area that may be
s ubjected to freezing conditions .
2. Determine the mount location of the heat pump unit in accordance with the
clearances s pecified on page 2, as well as the location of the building’s water
and electrical s upply lines .
3. Pos ition the piping-and-receptacle plate
(figure 1) over the building’s supply, return,
and condens ate fluid lines . Ins tall isolation
valves on each of the pipes to facilitate
removal and s ervicing of the unit in the
future. Flus h lines prior to ins tallation of
hoses to the building’s s upply and return
lines .
4. The electrical outlet is supplied and
preins talled in the des ignated cavity that is
included as part of the piping-and-receptacle
plate. The electrician mus t take out the outlet and reins tall after wiring.
5. With the electrical connection complete, use
