The XuperMIG 2500 are inverter generators able to carry
out the following types of welding:
MIG/MAG CONTINUOUS
MMA
TIG CONTINUOUS/PULSED
In the MIG modality it is possible to employ the following
welding procedures:
2-step control
4-step control
In the TIG modality it is possible to employ the following
welding procedures:
lift-arc 2-step control
lift-arc 4-step control
The generator features:
A front mounted control panel.
On the rear hand side: a gas outlet, a switch and a power
cable.
On the front: a positive welding plug (+), a negative welding
plug (-), EURO welding connection, connected to a power
wire to select the MIG/MAG welding polarities.
The machine can also be connected to engine-driven
generators as long as they have a stabilised voltage.
The generator in question must be supplied with a rated
voltage of 3x400V~±15%/50-60Hz.
The electric plant must be able to supply the maximum
power required by the generator, must conform to the
regulations of the country in which the installation is being
made, and be executed only by expert personnel.
The plug that connects to the power supply must be
suitable to support current values not lower than the
maximum effective power supply current I
1eff
. The wires of
the power supply cable must not come out from the body of
the plug !
Connect the generator to the mains supply and position the
switch I1 to the “ON” position, and the welding machine will
set itself into the last welding process used. Using the front
panel, choose the new welding process.
MIG/MAG welding
Connect the MIG torch to the EURO P3 connection; select
through P4 the arc polarity according to the requests of the
wire constructor (usually P4 is connected to the P2 positive
plug).
Connect the earth clamp to the P1 or P2 plugs according to
previous choices.
Connect the gas cylinder pipe to the A1 gas outlet.
TIG Welding
Connect the TIG torch with EURO connector to the EURO
P3 connection and P4 to the negative P1 connection.
Connect the earth clamp to the P2 positive plug.
Connect the gas cylinder pipe to the A1 gas outlet.
MMA welding
Connect the electrode-support gun and the earth gun to the
machine sockets according to the polarity required by the
manufacturer of the electrode to be welded.
ATTENTION!
Check that the electrode does not touch any
metal part because when this welding mode is selected the
machine sockets are live.
The illustration shows the rear panel of the machine, as
follows:
F1: Fuse.
The protection fuse of the auxiliary transformer
providing the supply to the tow-wire motor ha a value of
500mA DELAYED.
A1: Rear gas connector
is used to connect the gas pipe
coming from the gas bottle.
When the machine is turned on the solenoid valve is
activated for 1 second to allow the gas system to be loaded.
C1: Supply cable
4x2,5mm² with a length of 3,5m.
Should replacement of the power supply cable be
necessary, remember that it must be suitable for the
application and comply with national and local provisions.
Its size must comply with the effective power supply current
I
1eff
and it must be at least 2m long from the point where it
comes out of the casing.
I1: Supply switch
is the switch to turn on the machine. It
has two positions, “ON” and “OFF”. When the machine is
connected to the mains with I1 in the “ON” position and in
the MMA mode there is power between the negative and
positive clamps. In the TIG mode to be able to start the
welding process, it needs the command from the torch
button or from the pedal.
CAUTION
Even when the welding machine connected to
the mains is switched off (I1 in “OFF” position), there are
parts inside that are live. Before opening the machine,
disconnect the plug from the mains.
