SECTION 2 - CONTROLS, INSTRUMENTS AND OPERATION

PICK-UP COMPENSATION CYLINDER
Mounted at the right hand side of the baler is the pick-up
compensation cylinder as shown opposite.
The cylinder and hence the pick-up can be raised or
lowered when the selected tractors remote lever is
operated.
Refer to Section 3 for setting procedures.
Transport setting
IMPORTANT: When travelling on the road the cylinder
must be set with the setting collar in its upper most
position (1) and secured with the locking pin. This position
ensures that the pick-up can not drop to the ground
during transportation.
TRANSPORTING THE BALER
DANGER
Do not exceed the legal speed limit determined by local
legislation. In the field, adapt forward speed to the
condition of the ground. Particularly when driving on the
road, ensure that the individual foot brake pedals are
always coupled together (the interlock arm on the foot
brake pedals engaged). If brakes are installed on the baler,
they should correctly be connected to the tractor before
towing. In case of a compressed air brake system, do not
drive off with the baler until the compressed air gauge on
the tractor indicates 5 bar (73 psi). The brakes will not
release below 5 bar (73 psi) operating pressure.
NOTE: Some tractors have only one (either left or right)
brake pedal operating the external brake circuit. Other
tractors have each pedal independently operating the
external brake circuit. Hence, uncoupling the tractor
pedals to make sharp turns using brake assistance may
not have the desired effect because both wheels on the
baler will block, which will counteract a sharp turn. It is
therefore compulsory always to couple both foot pedals,
even for field operation.
