6 - MAINTENANCE

8. Attach a new filter. Turn the filter until the seal touches

the filter head, and then tighten it further a half turn by
hand.

NOTE:

do not use a filter wrench for tightening the filter.

Overtightening can damage the filter and its seal.

9. Install the drain plug.

SMIL16MEX1443AB

10. Add new engine oil to the engine. Install the fill cap.

11. Run the engine for several minutes to check that there

are no leaks at the filter and at the drain plug.

12. Stop the engine and check the oil level with the dip-

stick. Add oil if necessary.

NOTE:

always wait

15 min

to allow the oil to return to the

sump before checking the oil level.

13. Install the cover of the drain plug.
