12V DC / 230V AC POWER INVERTER
Soft-start technology
The power inverter is equipped with a soft-start technology which results in the voltage
conversion in stages. This allows to use external appliances which require a higher start-up
current. Increasing the output voltage in stages prevents damage to the power inverter, the 12V
input voltage and the connected external appliances.
5) OPERATION
Installation
For installation no tools are necessary. Unpack the device completely. The device is directly ready
to use.
Connection
Attention!
Before connecting the power inverter you must check the connections on the vehicle‘s
battery.
If the + pole on the vehicle’s battery is connected to the chassis, you must not use the power
converter with such vehicles.
Plug the 12V plug (7) of the power inverter into the 12V socket with at least 15A. Always
disconnect the cable to the 12V input voltage when you are not using the power inverter.
The LED indicator lights up.
Green LED
Power inverter is ready.
Red LED
Fault!
Check the 12V connector and consult Troubleshooting, page 52.
Warning!
Always remove the power inverter from the 12V socket before turning the ignition.
Never connect appliances to the power inverter or operate connected appliances while
driving.Make sure no appliances are connected to the power inverter when you connect the
power inverter to the 12 V input voltage e.g. a cigarette lighter in a car.
Note
If the power supply is interrupted while the power inverter is running, you will need to restart it.
Do so by disconnecting and reconnecting the supply cable.
For use in a car remove the cigarette lighter first. Make sure the cigarette lighter is cold (danger of
burning). Keep in a safe place.
In some vehicles, the ignition needs to be turned on before the socket is supplied with power.
