5. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
•
Plug in the machine only when it is switched off
•
Prevent water with electricity
•
Do not use the machine under moist conditions
•
Remove dust safely using a water vac cleaner
•
Always hold the machine with both hands. Left hand
on the blade guard and right hand on the ON/OF
switch
•
Always use the machine under supervision.
•
Keep hands away from rotating parts
•
Ensure you are always standing firmly
•
Wear prescribed and suitably protective clothing
•
Due to the creation of dust particles, the use of a dust
mask is advised
•
Double-check that the diamond saw blades are
correctly assembled
•
Before use, check that all screws are firmly in place.
Because of vibrations caused during cutting, screws
can work loose and cause damage or injury
•
After use, do not touch metal parts of the drill
machine and the diamond saw blade; this could be
hot and cause burns.
•
Ensure that the machine does not start rotating by
accident; always disengage the ON/OFF switch
before connecting to the power supply, or after there
has been an interruption in the power supply
6. SWITCHING ON/OFF
The machine is provided with a switch with a fix button, with
which the machine can be switch on/off in 2 ways:
1 – Temporary use
Switch on:
push in switch
Switch off:
release switch
2-- Constant use
Switch on:
push in switch and secure using fix button
Switch off:
push in switch and release
7. OVERLOAD PROTECTION
To protect the motor, the machine is provided with a LED load
indication and a electronic overload protection system.
Whenever the engine is switched off due to overload, it must
be switched on again as soon as possible to cool the motor.
Then let the machine run for a minimum of 1 minute without
load.
The LED indicates the load on the motor :
Green continuously lit
normal load
Green Blinking
Risk to overload
Red
blinking
Overload
Red
continuously lit
Overload motor will be
automatically switched off.
8. CARBON BRUSHES
Make sure to have carbon brushes inspected every
12 months and replaced if necessary by a certified expert.
9. DUST EXTRACTION
Dust released during dry cutting is dangerous to your health.
Therefore a dust extraction system specially intended for this
purpose must be used.
The use of a dust extraction system is also required to
optimize the life time of the diamond saw blades.
To prevent clogging of the dust extraction system it is essential
that the materials which are being cut are completely dry.
Information about dust extraction systems is available at your
local Carat dealer.
10. LASER GUIDE SYSTEM
The SL1501 is equipped with a laser guide integrated in the
blade guard. The laser is activated as soon as the on/off switch
is pressed and the saw blades start rotating. The laser shows
as a red line on wall “in front of the machine” and indicates the
cutting line of the inner blade (nearest to the motor)
The visibility of the laser can be increased by wearing special
“laser” goggles (info at your Carat dealer). The laser is class 2
/ 1mW and approved for use on hand held machines.
