• Transport of equipment containing flammable refrigerants
See transport regulations
• Labelling of equipment using signs
See local regulations
• Disposal of equipment containing flammable refrigerants
See national regulations.
• Storage of equipment/appliances
Equipment should be stored in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
• Storage of packed (unsold) equipment
Storage packaging protection should be designed such that mechanical damage to the
equipment inside the packaging will not cause the refrigerant to leak. Local regulations
determine the maximum number of items of equipment that can be stored together.
• lnformation on servicing
1) Checking the area
Before starting work on systems containing flammable refrigerants, safety checks are
necessary so as to ensure the risk of ignition is minimised. When repairing the refrigeration
system, the following precautions must be taken before starting work on the system.
2) Work procedure
Work must follow a controlled procedure so as to minimise the risk of a flammable gas or
vapour being present while work is in progress.
• Do not use cleaning methods or ways to speed up the defrosting process that have not been
recommended by the manufacturer.
• The appliance must be stored in a room with no continuously operating ignition sources (such
as naked flames, gas appliances or electric heaters).
• Do not pierce or burn.
• Be aware that the refrigerants used may be odourless.
• Appliance CPA6901V should be installed, operated and stored in a room with a floor area
larger than 8 sq m.
• Compliance with national gas regulations must be observed.
• Vents must be kept clear of obstructions.
• The appliance must be stored in a manner that prevents mechanical damage occurring.
• Warning: the appliance must be stored in a well-ventilated area of a size as specified for
operation.
• Anyone working on refrigerant circuits should hold a current valid certificate from an
industry-accredited assessment authority, authorising their competence to handle refrigerants
safely in accordance with an assessment specification recognised by the industry.
• The appliance must only be serviced as recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
Maintenance and repair requiring the assistance of other skilled personnel must take place
under the supervision of a person skilled in the use of flammable refrigerants.
WARNINGS (only when using R290 refrigerant)
