Introduction
Welcome to the Dallas DS2490 USB Adapter installation guide. The DS2490 USB Adapter allows you
connect the iButton
®
Enrollment Reader to your computer through your computer's USB port.

Ultralite’s stand-alone controllers/readers can only be
programmed using the iButton programming key and enrollment reader that is part of the
Stand-Alone
Programming Kit
(below). This also applies to Cansec TruckStop Express controller.

All Cansec products that support the Dallas DS2490 USB Adapter load the required drivers for operation. This
document provides detailed instruction for completing the installation phase of this USB device.
The iButton Enrollment Reader has a
phone-style jack that plugs in to both the
iButton USB adapter and the stand-alone
programming module near the controller.
With the programming key snapped
into the enrollment reader receptacle,
data can be transported to and from
controllers and the PC.
