C A NON CON S UMER DIGIT A L VIDEO EQUIPMENT LIMITED W A RR A NTY
The limited warranty s et forth below i s given by Canon Canada Inc. (“Canon Canada”) with re s pect to
Canon Con s umer Digital Video Equipment (the “Equipment”) purcha s ed in Canada. Thi s limited warranty i s
only effective upon pre s entation of a bill of s ale or other proof of purcha s e for thi s Equipment to a Canon
S ervice Facility when repair s are required.
The Equipment i s warranted under normal, non-commercial, per s onal u s e, again s t defective material s or
wor k man s hip a s follow s :
Part s : Defective part s will be exchanged for new part s or, at Canon Canada’ s option, comparable rebuilt
part s for a period of one year from the date of original purcha s e, except Video Head s which will be
exchanged for a period of 3 month s from the date of purcha s e.
Labour: For a period of one year from the date of original purcha s e, labour will be provided free of charge by
our Canon S ervice Facilitie s in Canada.
Thi s limited warranty cover s all defect s except where:
(a) The lo ss or damage to the product re s ult s from:
i) accident, natural di s a s ter, mi s handling, abu s e, neglect, unauthori z ed product modification or fail-
ure to follow in s truction s contained in the in s truction manual;
ii) the u s e of acce ss orie s , attachment s , product s , s upplie s , part s or device s with the Equipment
that do not conform to Canon s pecification s or that cau s e abnormally frequent s ervice problem s ;
iii) repair s or s ervice s performed by any party other than a Canon S ervice Facility;
iv) defective batterie s or any expo s ure to water, s and or dirt;
v) s hipping (claim mu s t be pre s ented to the s hipper);
(b) Any s erial number on the video equipment i s altered or removed.
(c) The Equipment i s u s ed for commercial, profe ss ional or indu s trial purpo s e s .
Thi s limited warranty doe s not cover the cabinet (exterior fini s h) of the Equipment, media, nor doe s it apply
to Equipment purcha s ed out s ide Canada.
If the Equipment contain s a hard di sk drive, Canon Canada recommend s that data s tored on that drive be
duplicated or bac k ed up to prevent it s lo ss in the event of a failure or other malfunction of s uch drive.
TO OBT A IN W A RR A NTY S ERVICE
S hip your Equipment in it s original carton, box or equivalent, properly pac k ed, fully in s ured with s hipping
charge s prepaid, together with a copy of your bill of s ale or other proof of purcha s e and a de s cription of the
problem to any of the Canon S ervice Facilitie s in Canada.
LIMIT A TION S
Except a s otherwi s e required by applicable legi s lation, thi s warranty i s in lieu of all other warrantie s , condi-
tion s , guarantee s or repre s entation s , expre ss or implied, s tatutory or otherwi s e, relative to the Equipment,
including implied warrantie s or condition s of merchantability or fitne ss for a particular purpo s e.
