3 Common Problems

Communications fail.

Cause:

The telephone line is not connected to the line modular jack.

Remedy:

Connect the telephone line to the line modular jack (middle terminal).

Calling fails.

Cause:

The wrong type of line (tone dial) is selected.

Remedy:

Select the correct line type.

No sound is generated by the speaker.

Cause:

The speaker is not correctly connected.

Remedy:

Check the wiring from the G3 fax control PCB to the speaker. (J105 of
the G3 fax control PCB to the host relay cable; relay cable between
speaker behind the support cover and the copier)

The DONE stamp fails to operate.

Cause:

the stamp has run out of ink.

Remedy:

Replace the stamp cartridge.
