3.2 Saddle Stitcher Unit

3.2.1 E5F0 (fault in paper positioning plate; detail: 01/02)

Paper positioning plate home position sensor (PI49)

1) Check the paper positioning plate home position sensor. Is the sen-

sor normal?

NO:

Replace the sensor.

Saddle stitcher controller PCB

2) Does the paper positioning plate operate at a specific timing?

YES: Replace the saddle stitcher controller PCB.
NO:

Check the positioning plate drive mechanism. If a fault is found,
correct it; otherwise, go to step 3).

Paper positioning plate motor (M4)

3) Does the paper positioning plate operate at a specific timing?

YES: Replace the saddle stitcher controller PCB.
NO:

Check the positioning plate drive mechanism. If a fault is found,
correct it; otherwise, go to step 4).

4) Try replacing the paper positioning plate motor. Is the problem cor-

rected?

YES: End.
NO:

Replace the saddle stitcher controller PCB.
