3. Folding operation

• The folding position adjustment feed clutch (CL3) turns off, the folding position adjustment back clutch (CL4) turns on,

and the C-fold stopper solenoid (SOL5) turns on.

• For plain paper, the folding position adjustment motor (M15) turns in the normal direction at a speed of 400 ms. For thin

paper, the folding position adjustment motor (M15) turns in the normal direction at a speed of 200 mm/s.

• The leading edge of the paper bumps against the trailing edge stopper, starting the first fold operation.
• The release timing sensor (S31) turns off to stop the folding position adjustment motor (M15) and turn off the folding

position adjustment back clutch (CL4).

• The upper stopper paper sensor (S33) turns on to turn off the C-fold stopper solenoid (SOL5).
• The leading edge of the first fold bumps against the leading edge stopper, starting the second fold operation.
• The leading edge pushing guide starts moving 71 ms after the upper stopper paper sensor (S33) turned on.
• The upper stopper paper sensor (S33) turns off to turn on the folding tray flapper solenoid (SOL4).
