LCD Messages
The following messages are displayed in the LCD display when the MultiPASS is performing a
function or encounters an error. The error code appears in the Activity Report.

The unit is waiting to redial the
other party’s number because the
line was busy or the other party did
not answer when you tried to send
the document.
The BCI-21 Black Ink Tank in the
BC-21e Color BJ Cartridge is empty
or its ink may have dried out.
The telephone number you dialed is
busy.
The fax number dialed was incorrect.
The other party’s fax machine is not
working.
Wait for the unit to try redialing. If
that does not work, wait until the unit
starts to dial the number, then press
the
Stop
button to cancel redialing.
Try to send the document again at a
later time.
Clean the BJ cartridge print head (see
page 7-18 ). If the message remains in
the LCD display, replace the ink tank
(see
page 7-33 ). The unit will then
print automatically any faxes received
in memory.
Try sending the document at a later
time.
Check the fax number and dial again.
Contact the other party and have
them check their fax machine.
