Miscellaneous Problems
The LBP2900 does not function properly.
Cause 1 The LBP2900 is not configured as the default printer.
Remedy Set it to the default printer.
Cause 2 The CAPT software may not be installed properly.
Remedy To check whether the CAPT software is installed correctly or not, try printing
from an application. If the printing does not work properly, uninstall the CAPT
software and then reinstall it (see "Uninstalling the CAPT software," on p. 3-67,
"Installing the CAPT Software," on p. 3-5).
Steam comes out of the surroundings of the output area of the printer.
Cause Water contained in the paper evaporated by heat radiated when the toner is
fixing.
(Particularly, this is apt to occur at low temperature.)
Remedy Although the above phenomenon is not abnormal, you can prevent steam
radiation by replacing with new paper whose package is unopened.
Also, store paper so that it is not damp. (See "Storing Blank Paper," on p. 2-7)
WARNING
If you experience a burnt odor, immediately turn OFF the printer, unplug the
power plug from the AC power outlet, and then contact your local authorized
Canon dealer. Otherwise, this may result in a fire or electrical shock.
You cannot use Adobe Type Manager (ATM) Fonts.
Cause You cannot use Adobe Type Manager (ATM) fonts with this printer
Remedy Only use fonts that can be used with this printer.
CD-ROM Setup does not appear automatically. (Windows Vista only)
Cause CD-ROM Setup is not specified to appear automatically.
Remedy From [Control Panel], click [Play CDs or other media automatically], select the
[Use AutoPlay for all media and devices] check box, and then set [Software and
games] to [Install or run program].
