Network Interface
With the optional Network Kit, the
imageRUNNER 2422/2420 can be connected to
a network using Ethernet. Connecting to a
network enables you to use the Remote UI.
For instructions on setting up the network
connection, see the
Network Guide .
Using the Remote User Interface
If the network connection is available, you can
control functions, such as confirming the status
of the machine and job operations, all from your
computer’s Web browser.
Once the Ethernet interface port is configured
properly, the imageRUNNER 2422/2420 can be
controlled and set up through the Remote UI
and network. For instructions on configuring the
Ethernet port, see the
Network Guide .
Network Scanning
If the network connection is available, the
Network Scan function enables you to use the
imageRUNNER 2422/2420 as a conventional
scanner. You can scan a document using the
machine, and read the data in an application on
your computer. To use this function, the
machine must be connected to an IPv4
network, and the Color Network ScanGear
software* must be installed on your computer.
