Exxx*
Cause An error has occurred in the machine.
Remedy Turn OFF the main power, wait for more than 10 seconds, then turn it ON again.
If this does not solve the problem, disconnect the machine and contact your
local authorized Canon dealer. (See “Service Call Message,” on p. 4-11.)
* xxx stands for a number.
Feeder cover open/Close cover
Cause The feeder cover is open.
Remedy Close the feeder cover.
Finisher cover open/Close cover
Cause The front cover of the finisher is open.
Remedy Close the front cover of the finisher.
Frnt/Left cover open/Close cover
Cause One or more covers are open.
Remedy Close all of the covers.
Load correct paper
Cause 1 The paper size detected automatically by the paper drawer does not match the
actual paper size.
Remedy 1 Make sure that the paper size loaded in the paper drawer matches the paper
size set for the drawer.
Remedy 2 Set the size for the paper drawer to match the paper you want to load into the
drawer.
Cause 2 The paper size selected for the stack bypass in the Stand. Stack Bypass
(Standard Stack Bypass) menu does not match the paper size loaded in the
stack bypass.
Remedy 1 Load the correct paper size into the stack bypass.
Remedy 2 Set the paper size for the stack bypass to match the paper you want to load into
the stack bypass.
