Detecting the Last Original

0006-2255

The machine uses the last original sensor (PI8) and the original placement sensor (PI9) to
find out if the original that has been picked up is the last of the stack of originals in the
original tray.
When the last original has been picked up and its trailing edge has moved past the last
original detecting lever of the original tray, the design lever operates in conjunction with the
light-blocking plate to permit the light to the photointerrupter to pass, thus causing the last
original sensor (PI8) to generate the last original detection signal (NDS). Thereafter, when
the last original moves past the original sensor (PI9), the original absent signal (EMPS) is
generated to communicate to the host machine that the original is the last of the stack.
