1. For your safety
- Read this notice carefully before assembling and using your
heater. Keep it meticulously and consult it whenever neces-
sary.
- Using this heater in totally enclosed premises can be dange-
rous and is FORBIDDEN.
- The heater must be installed in accordance with the instruc-
tions and local regulations, particularly its installation and use
in premises frequented by the general public.
- Application des Gaz accepts no responsibility for the faulty
installation or use due to the failure to observe the rules spe-
cific to public buildings.
- THIS HEATER SHOULD ONLY BE USED OUTDOORS OR
IN A WELL-VENTILATED AREA. A ventilated area means
that at least 25% of its total surface area is open.
The total surface area is the sum of the surface area of the
walls.
- Do not store or use petrol or other inflammable liquids or
steam near your heater. No combustible material should be
placed within a 60 cm radius of the heater.
- Do not move the heater during operation and use it on level
ground (slope of less than 10° - fig. 24).
- We advise you to use propane.
- Do not use butane if the temperature is below 5 C.
CAUTION:
Some accessible parts (canopy) can be very hot.
Keep young children away.
- The heater can be overturned by strong gusts of wind. Pay
particular attention to the risk of the heater tipping over if the
wind is very strong.
- If you smell gas:

Close the gas inlet (cylinder valve or regulator lever)

Extinguish any flame

If the smell persists, remove the regulator from the cylinder,
place it outside and inform your cylinder retailer.
The heater must be examined and repaired before being
used again.
- Always shut off the gas at the cylinder valve and/or regulator
lever after use.
2. Gas cylinder
The device is designed to operate from 6 kg to 15 kg cylin-
ders. The cylinder should be fitted with a compatible regula-
tor. (see gas and working pressures pages 2, 3 and 4).
Only use the type of gas and cylinder indicated by the manu-
facturer.
We advise you to use propane as your first choice for the best
possible operation in all weather conditions.
3. Flexible gas hose
Great Britain - Ireland
This patio heater must be used with a 1.25 m long flexible
hose secured with hose clamps.
This patio heater must be used with a flexible hose intended
for use with butane and propane in accordance with national
regulations in force (NF - BS - UNI - UNE)
It must be replaced if damaged, shows signs of ageing or sur-
face cracks. Do not pull or twist it. Keep it away from any parts
likely to become hot.
4. Leak tests
Work outdoors, well away from any flammable materials or
naked flames. Do not smoke. DO NOT USE A FLAME TO
DETECT GAS LEAKS.

1 - Assembly
Follow the assembly order by using the text and drawing booklets jointly.

IMPORTANT:
Remove all the parts from the packing and identify them using the enclosed assembly diagrams.
2) Follow the instructions and assemble in the order shown in the diagrams.
2 - Safety
4-1. Before mounting the head (11) onto the tube (12).
- Ensure that the control knobs are in the (
l
) position
- Screw the nozzle (with its washer) which is in a bag with the
screws on the gas inlet of the appliance.
- Use a wrench to immobilize the inlet connection of the appli-
ance and tighten or loosen the end piece with another
wrench.
- Push the flexible hose onto the nozzle on the patio heater
and the regulator without feeding the hose into the tube.
- Secure the hose clamp for the flexible hose at the patio
heater end.
- Do not secure the hose clamp on the regulator end.
- Ensure that the regulator seal is present and in good condi-
tion and secure the regulator to the gas cylinder.
- Open the gas inlet (valve on the cylinder (fig. 13A) or lever on
the regulator (fig. 13B)) and press the regulator reset button
if applicable (according to the regulator instructions).
- Apply the gas leak solution to the cylinder/regulator/flexible
hose/patio heater connections keeping the control knobs in
the (
l
) position.
- If the solution forms bubbles there is a gas leak.
To stop the leaks, tighten the nut on the regulator or the noz-
zle.
DANGER:
NEVER OPERATE THE PATIO HEATER WHILE
THERE IS A LEAK.
- Turn on the gas supply using the cylinder valve or the regu-
lator lever.
- If no leak has been detected, disconnect the flexible hose
from the regulator.
- Support the appliance head on a low table and locate the gas
inlet connection.
- Slip the flexible hose into the wand and fasten the appliance
head on the wand. (fig.11)
4-2. After mounting the head onto tube (12).
- Push the flexible hose onto the regulator connection and
tighten the clamp.
- Switch on the gas supply (valve on the cylinder (fig. 13A) or
lever on the regulator (fig. 13B)) and press the regulator reset
button if applicable (according to the regulator instructions).
- Apply gas leak solution to the cylinder/regulator/flexible hose
connections whilst keeping the adjustment knobs in the
closed position.
- Check for and address any leaks found as described in para-
graph 4-1.

- Turn on the gas supply using the cylinder valve or the regula-
tor lever.
