B.2.1  Removing the 1M

Resistor from the Wind Monitor Circuit

The 1M

resistor (labelled R3) is included within the Wind Monitor circuit for

use with Campbell Scientific dataloggers. When the Wind Monitor is directly
connected to the Wind Tracker, this resistor is not required and must be removed
(or disabled).

Identify the correct resistor by referring to Figure B-1, below. It is recommended
that the resistor wire is snipped at the top edge and bent away from the resistor
itself, as shown in Figure B-2, effectively removing the resistor from the circuit. In
this way it is a fairly simple job to reconnect the resistor, should this be required at
a future date (so that you could use the Wind Monitor directly connected to a
datalogger, for example), by repositioning the bent wire and soldering the
connection.

If you have any problems concerning the location or removal of the
1M

resistor, please contact Campbell Scientific for advice.

NOTE

Cut the 1M

 resistor wire in this

vicinity and bend away.
