Wire the Wind Monitor to the Wind Tracker using the special cable available from
Campbell Scientific. The cable will be supplied to the length required for your
installation, and must be ordered separately. When ordering, bear in mind that the
standard Wind Tracker unit is not suitable for outdoor use (unless fitted in an
appropriate enclosure) and so sufficient cable should be ordered to easily reach the
site of the instrument. Wire up the units as shown in Figure B-3, above.
B.3 Connecting the Wind Tracker to the Wind Monitor
and a Datalogger
When you use the Wind Monitor with a datalogger, as part of a weather station
installation for example, you will be able to store and process the wind data
according to the specific datalogger program. This will allow you to access both
current and historical records as required.
However, you may still wish to add the Wind Tracker to your installation,
possibly to provide an instantaneous display of current wind data at a particular
location. This section describes the wiring required when using a Wind Monitor
with both a datalogger and the Wind Tracker.
When the Wind Monitor is used in this way you will still need to
remove the 1M

resistor from the circuit as explained in Section
B.2.1, above.
