Setting up a Database
All data used in the Actiheart system is stored in SQLite databases. For full
details of the databases used by the system, please see the chapter in the main
manual on databases. For now, note that when the software is first run, the
window below will be d
isplayed. Note the highlighted warning about a “demo
database”.
This highlighted warning indicates that the software has installed a database of
demonstration data in your own Documents directory. This will allow you to
quickly try out parts of the software to view data before needing to make a
‘proper’ recording. Note however that we strongly recommend creating a new
(empty) database before beginning any significant data collection, as it will make
it easier to organise the data and distinguish real results from test recordings.
When you wish to create a new recording database, use the Utilities button, and
then the Database section and “New”. This is not necessary for quick test
purposes and trying out the software
– you can continue with the demo
database.
You are now is a position to begin using the Actiheart and software.
