Remote Production System

Installation

AUDIO I/O CONNECTIONS

There are a number of ways to get 
audio in and out of a RP1 unit.  There 
are 3 single width Modular I/O card 
slots which can use any of the cards 
from the Modular I/O box range and it 
can also connect to Hydra2 networks 
via the built-in Hydra2 module.

ExpansionModularI/Ocardslots

accessiblefromtherearoftheunit.
Thethreeslotscanbefittedwithany
cardfromCalrec’sModularI/Orange,
“single”,or“double-wide”cards.Please
refertotheHydra2installationmanualfor
acompletelistoftheModularI/Ocard
typesavailable.

ExpansioncardsappearintheUIasslots
C,D&E.Therearconnectionimagefor
theexpansionshownbelowcontains:-
1xDualSDIEmbeddercard,
1x8I/PMic/Lineincardand
1x8O/PLineoutcardinslotsC,D&E.

Tofitthesecards,removeblankingplates
fromthedesiredslots,andalignthecard
inslotrunners,withthe“top”ofthecard
totheleft.Slidecardintoplace,firmly
seatingitagainstthebackplaneconnector
andfixitinplaceusingthecaptivescrews
onthecard.Anyemptyspacesthat
remaincanbefilledwithblankingplates
asrequired.

ItisimportanttoobserveESDprecautions
whenhandlingexpansioncards-use
antistaticbagstostoreandplacecards
downonwhennotfittedinthesurface,
handlebytheiredgesanduseananti-
staticwriststrapwhenfitting.

Onbootingthesystem,anyexpansion
cardsfittedareautomaticallydetected
andmadeavailabletotheuser.

Ifacardisremoved,orchangedforone
ofadifferenttype,theoriginalwillremain
visibleinpatchingscreensbutdisplayed
asoffline.Tostopacardthatisnolonger
presentfromappearingintheUI,theI/O
shouldberemoved,andthenre-added
tothe‘RequiredI/O’listfoundunder
SystemSettings>RequiredI/OBoxes
inCalrecAssist.

Iftheorderthatcardsarefittedinthe
cardslotsisimportantinyourinstallation,
pleasediscussthiswithyoursupplier
priortodelivery.Ifforanyreasonthecard
orderneedstobechangedpostdelivery,
pleasecontactourCustomerSupport
teamoryourlocaldistributorforguidance.

Cardsofthesametypecanbe
interchangedwithnoconfiguration
changerequired.Additionalcardscan
befittedinpreviouslyemptyslotswithout
furtherconfiguration.

process.

Note:SFPsfittedintheRP1unitshould
becompatiblewiththosetowhichtheyare
connectinginanI/OboxorH2Hub.

Note, any fixed RJ45s on the rear of 
external Hydra2 I/O boxes are not 
functional, if copper connections are 
required, copper SFPs should be 
specified.
