CONNECTING TO RP1 FROM THE HOST CONSOLE

Everythingotherthanthe‘TrytoConnect’
fieldandthe‘BlockFader/CutControl’

occasionalpollingofeachoftheremote
networksbutnoconnectionisestablished
bythehostuntilthe‘TrytoConnect’
switchisselected.Thelatencyfields

acknowledgement(Ping).Thestatus
fieldshaveoneof5states:-‘Offline’,
‘Available’,‘Connected’,‘InUse’or

Clickingthe‘TrytoConnect’fieldintothe

thatremotenetwork.If‘Available’,the
remotenetworkrespondswithaconnect
messagewhichchangesthestatusto
‘Connected’.Iftherequesttoconnect
issenttoaremotenetworkwhichis

networkatahigherfrequencyrateuntila
connectedmessageisreceived.

Notethat‘InUse’meansthatsomeone
elseisusingtheselectedRP1unitand
‘Incompatible’meansthatthereisa
mismatchbetweentheRP1unitandthe
hostpreventingcorrectoperation.

Onceconnected,theRP1faderandaux
masterfaderparametersandtherouting
betweenthemisestablishedandsent
eitherfromtheremotenetworktosetup
theremotefadersandremoteauxmaster
parametersandtheroutingbetweenthem
onthehostconsole.

Thecurrentdesignallowsanyhostto
connecttoanyRP1unitinitsH2Olist.
IfaconnectionislosttoaRP1unitand
anotherhosthasits‘TrytoConnect’
switchsetforthesameRP1unitthe
otherhostcouldstealtheconnection
(unintentionally).Toavoidthiseachuseris
expectedtomanuallydisconnectfroman
RP1unitwhenfinishedwithit,sothatitis
availableforanotherhostconsole.
