Operation Via Host Console

INDEPENDENT OPERATION OF RP1 FROM THE HOST CONSOLE

SettingtheRP1tobeindependent

Undercertainoperationalconditionsitis
desirabletoallowtheRP1unittobecome
temporarily‘Independent’ofthehost.
ThisisconfiguredfromtheRP1unit.

Set RP1 Independent Procedure:

Goto

Menu>System Settings>General 

Settings>RP Unit Settings

andclickon

the‘Independent’buttonwhichmakesthe
RP1unitindependentofthehostsettings
andcontrol.Note:onceindependenceis
establishedthe‘Independent’statusflag
isshownintheSystemstatusareainthe
headersothattheusercanseethison
everypageasshownaboveright.

Thehostconsoleisalsoinformedthat
theRP1isconnectedbut‘Independent’
in

Hydra Options>Remote Networks 

underneaththenameoftheRP1Unitthat
hasbecomeindependentasshownright.

WhentheRP1unitindependenceisON:
Thehostcanalterthesettingsforthe
RemoteFaderbuttheRP1unitignores
them.Inaddition,theRP1unitwillignore
the’BlockFader/CutControl’statusand
hencecontrolwillnotbeblockedatthe
RP1unitfrommakingchanges.Ifthe
RP1unitissettobe‘Independent’no
settingsaretransferredineitherdirection
irrespectiveofthe‘BlockFader/Cut
Control’setting.

ItisonlywhentheIndependenceisturned
OFFthatthesettingofthe‘BlockFader/
CutControl’switchbecomesrelevant.

WithIndependenceisturnedON,theRP1
unitwillcontinuewiththecurrentsettings,
includinganyhostVCAMastersettings
asdescribedinthenextsection.Itwill
savethesesettingsinitshiddenmemory
incaseofpowerloss.The‘Independent’
switchsettingisalsostoredatsystem
levelontheRP1unit.
