13.3 Cascade connection with 2
variable speed pumps.
To make the electrical connection between the
frequency converters disconnect power supply from
the frequency converters, remove the screws and
the small cover on the back of the frequency
converter. Insert the electrical cable into the nut and
in the gasket and pass the cable into the small
cover. Extract the connector and connect the cables
into the terminal A. Reinstall the small cover, tighten
the screws, insert the gasket and tighten the nuts.
13.4 Cascade mode programming
The sequence and the modes of the
operations to be done in the Master
freqeuncy converter and in each Slave
frequency converter must strictly
correspond to the following procedure.
13.4.1 Setting of the frequency
converters
Check the current value on the motor plate of the
pump. Press the button
(green led lighted) on the
display CURRENT and set the value with the buttons
(plus)
and
(minus). The adjustment step is
0,5 A. After the set-up of the current press the button
(yellow led lighted) to lock the adjustment, press
the button
(green led lighted) to start the pump
and at the end the button (red led lighted). Repeat
the procedure used for the Master frequency
converter in the Slave frequency converter.
13.4.2 Programming of the cascade
mode control panel
Master frequency converter.
Press the button
(yellow led switched off,
green led lighted) to unlock the programming.
Slave frequency converter
Press the button
(yellow led switched off,
green led lighted) to unlock the programming and
the button
To select the Slave frequency converter (yellow
led lighted).
Press the button
to transfer the parameters
form the Master to the Slave (green led lighted) .
To confirm press the button
a second time
(green led lighted). Wait few seconds and press
the button
(yellow led lighted) to lock the
programming on both frequency converters.
If the comunication is working the green led
will light on on both frequency converter.
Press the button
(green led lighted) on the
control panel of both frequency converters to start
the system.
When the pump works on the display CURRENT
will appear the real current absorption value and
on the PRESSURE display the system pressure.
To change the pressure value and the re-start
pressure value (bar) on both frequency
converters, modify the parameters only on the
Master even while the pump is running. To
change the current absorption press the
button
(red led lighted) and then modify the
motor current absorption on the CURRENT
display of the frequency converter interested.
Connect remote alarm and floating switch on the
Master and, for higher safety, connect in parallel
on the Slave to prevent problems in case of
Master failure.
14. Reset
If some errors occured during the programming or
if it is necessary to transfer the frequency
converter on another pump it is strictly required to
reset the system following below:
Press on the control panel the button
(led from
green became red).
Press on the communication panel the button
quickly for four times (led green, yellow, green,
yellow).
