Configuring your Computer
Depending on which Microsoft operating system is running on your computer (Windows 8 or
Windows 10), you must modify the computer network settings as described in the following
sections.
To control the Paragon-neo over a networked connection, the recommended approach is to
connect the Paragon-neo directly to the network. Ensure that you understand the IP address range
used in that network and any associated subnet mask and default gateway addressing
requirements. If in doubt, contact the network
’
s System Administrator for the appropriate
addresses.
Microsoft Windows 7
1. Click on Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center then
Change Adapter Settings.
2. Right-click Local Area Connection > Properties.
3. Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) > Properties.
4. Click on Use the following IP address and enter an IP address, Subnet mask and Default
gateway. The IP address used should be different from the Paragon-X IP address (shown on its
display) only in the last 3 digits e.g. for a Paragon-X IP address of 192.168.3.100 a suitable host
PC IP address would be 192.168.3.105. This ensures Paragon-X will have an IP address on the
same subnet as the host PC.
Microsoft Windows 10
1. Open the Windows Start Menu, then type Connections in the search box and select the View
Network Connections item from the resulting list in the Settings subsection.
2. In the window which will now be displayed, right-click on the Local Area Connection icon for the
adapter to which Paragon-X is connected and click the Properties item (this may require
Administrator credentials to be supplied, depending on the user type configured).
3. Click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) then the Properties button.
