Check that all the connections are firm and secure.
As the last step, make the mains connection via the
female connector of the mains cable (Fig. 2). The
socket on the device is provided with a locking.
When connecting the plug, make sure that the
locking engages. In order to remove the plug, the
locking must be released by lightly raising its wing.
The device is operational as soon as it is connected to the mains.
Never charge batteries with short-circuited cells!Explosive gases (oxyhydrogen)
are produced if charging is carried out with a short-circuited battery, or when
the automatic charging controller is non-operational. Therefore it is necessary to
ensure sufficient external ventilation in the battery space. Avoid sparks and
open flames!
The battery must have a rated voltage of 12 V and a minimum capacity of 35
Ah (EVS 17/07 DS/IU) or 60 Ah (EVS 17/12 DS/IU). Insufficient charging
takes place if the battery is below this value. The operating voltage of the
battery must not fall below 1.5 V. No charging takes place below this value.
Battery charging proceeds automatically. Charging resumes after any mains
failure, depending on the voltage of the battery. The main charging process ends
when a battery voltage of 14.4 V is reached. On expiry of the 6-hour setting of
the timer, the process switches to holding charge at a constant 13.8 V.
During parallel operation, user current should be lower than the maximum
charging current (7A for EVS 17/07 DS/IU and 12 A for EVS 17/12 DS/IU).
This is the only way to ensure that the battery is being charged even though
consumers are being supplied.
