In this example Figure 36, limited broadcast forwarding is enabled on the
Base
unit, disabled on the
Mobile (1)
unit and enabled on the
Mobile (2)
unit. If
Sender
sends a packet to destination address 255.255.255.255, the
packet would reach
Mobile Host (4)
only.
The
Mobile (1)
unit would discard any limited broadcast packet it
received from the
Base
unit.
If the user wants the
Base
unit to do the discarding of the limited broadcasting packets, then the limited
broadcast forwarding must be disabled on the
Base
unit itself. Then no
Mobile Host
unit would ever be receiv-
ing a limited broadcast packet.
