Maneuver pins are red “stick pin” icons on the map that
indicate changes in the road or special action that must
be taken by the driver to remain on the currently
traveled road. For example, the road may have a sharp
curve in it. The curve would not qualify as an official
turn on the planned route. However, the driver must be
aware of the curve so that he or she can stay on the
planned route. Maneuver pins are always displayed
along a planned route, but voice prompts and screen
popups will only be given if these features are turned on.
As you are traveling, the current road is shown at the
bottom center of the map screen. In addition in the upper
center of the map screen will be the next maneuver.
Anytime while on the route, you can press the NAV
(navigation) Repeat button to get an audio prompt of
your next maneuver.
Once your vehicle is near your destination, the system
will say “You’ve arrived at your destination, ending
route guidance.” This message is dependent upon the
speed of your vehicle, not upon the distance of your
vehicle from the destination. Traveling at a higher rate
of speed may cause this message to play sooner than if
you are traveling at a slower rate of speed.
Back: This button always returns you to the
previous screen.
Traveling Across Regions
If you want to plan a route that will take you from one
region to another, you must remember that all roads stop
at the borders of a region. See “Regional Maps” in the
Index for more information. In order to plan a route that
will take you across regions, you must use one of the
following methods:
D Plan a route through a region and follow it until you
reach the end of that region. At that time, you must
load the next regional CD. Repeat this procedure
until you reach your final destination.
D Use the tenth CD, which only lists major highways
and city centers, to plan a route to one of the cities
on the CD. Once you have reached the region of
your destination, remove the tenth disc and insert the
CD for that region. If you will travel through more
than one region, you must repeat the first procedure
and load the various regional discs as required.
