4. Carefully pull the card up and out of the chassis. Handle the card
only by its edges; never touch a gold-plated edge connector. (If
you do, clean it with a lint-free cloth dipped in isopropyl
alcohol.) Avoid touching any components except jumpers and
switches.
5. Place the card into an anti-static bag. If one is not handy, set the
card aside until after step 6, then use the bag that contained the
replacement card.
6. Remove the replacement card from its anti-static bag. (Save the
bag for any future need.)
7. If installing an RLP, set the switches to match the configuration
of the removed card. If installing a Line Interface Card (LIC)
onto an RLP, mount it as shown in the drawing that accom-
panied the LIC. Each LIC has two connectors that mate to con-
nectors on the RLP; make sure these are fully seated before
securing the boards together with screws.
8. Insert the card into the card guide and lower it into the con-
nector. Push gently, but firmly, on the card until it is securely
seated.
9. Lock the card in place by re-installing the retaining screw.
10. Replace the chassis cover.
11. Plug any cable(s) into the card and tighten the retaining screws.
