INSTALLATION
Note:
The installation should be carried out in accordance BS 8629 (code of practice for the design,
installation, commissioning and maintenance of evacuation alert systems for use by the fire and rescue
service in buildings containing flats).
See section 7.1 for a recommended shortform installation procedure.
5.1
EACIE Panel Description
The EACIE panel is mounted inside a separate protective cabinet (not shown below). The panel’s chassis
comprises of a hinged steel lid and a steel back box which houses a power supply unit (PSU) and several PCBs,
as shown in Figure 2 below. Space is available inside the chassis for the two backup batteries.
The EAP4/48/CA/CHASSIS, 48 zone, 4 loop version is shown below.
