The CS440XD is a lightweight professional format metal detector.
A variable discrimination control (16) can be adjusted so that the detector does
not react to some types of metal which are likely to be worthless. The CS440XD is
extremely easy to use but you will be better at using your detector if you take the
time to read this manual carefully and understand what the controls are doing.
CS440XD - Rapid get you going instructions

(14) to the start of the green section on the scale.
Rotate the Discrimination Control
(16) to the green position on the scale.
Press the Retune button
(15) once.
Start searching
using a relaxed motion swinging the search-head from side to side as close
to the ground as possible.
Press the Retune button
(15) every few minutes or whenever the background tone rises to
an unacceptable level.
You are now searching in minimal discrimination mode.
The presence of a metal target
will be indicated by the increasing intensity of the tone. Signals from small ferrous rubbish
will be ignored.
