EQUINE CUPPING THERAPY IN THE VETERINARY FIELD
//WE HAVE MADE IT OUR GOAL TO HELP HORSES ACHIEVE
PHYSICAL WELL-BEING AND REACH THEIR GREATEST
POSSIBLE PEAK PERFORMANCE
WHY USE CUPPING THERAPY?
Cupping therapy is one of the oldest methods of therapy in the world,
stemming from ancient China and is still a very popular, traditional
Chinese method of therapy in today’s world.
Cupping therapy has a very holistic affect: the blood circulation is
stimulated, physical tension is dissolved and physical pain and
inflammation is reduced; cupping therapy can even stimulate the
body’s inner organs to regenerate and heal themselves.
There are many different techniques to cupping therapy.
Christian Danner has partnered with many renowned specialists to find the perfect technique when
it comes to equine cupping therapy. Together with his partners, Christian Danner has produced the
most modern equine cupping machine on the market-- a machine that allows the user to set the air
pressure on an individual basis, which provides each mounted glass cup with the perfect amount of
suction. The result is a wide range of benefits: increased blood flow circulation of the tissue,
stimulation of the lymph flow, and strengthening of the immune system, as well as reduction of bodily
tension, inflammation and stiffness. The body’s ability to regenerate, or, self-heal its inner organs can
be stimulated through activatin
g the horse’s nervous system and various reflex zones along the
horse’s back.
The initial goal of cupping therapy is to strengthen the body’s ability to heal itself, activate the immune
system, and stimulate the body’s natural detoxification process, bringing it to its healthiest and fittest
form. Cupping therapy also activates the reflex zones along the horse’s back which are all connected
to the inner organs through nerve cells. The elimination of physical pain and/or inflammation is
achieved by counteracting the pain with an imitated pain caused by the suction from the glass cups.
This ‘’imitated pain’’ causes the body to attack the site of the acute pain and encourages self healing,
resulting in the reduction or complete elimination of the physical pain or inflammation which was
previously there.
