10 Malfunctions and Repairs
10.1 Explanation of terms
10.1.1 Malfunction
A malfunction is an abnormal condition of the system and should be corrected as quickly as possible.
The operator of the system must ensure that the malfunctions are corrected.
10.1.2 Repairs
Repairs are the restoration of the correct condition of the system. The operator must ensure that the
malfunctions are corrected or repairs are made.
10.2 Objective
The objective of this chapter is to instruct the responsible qualified personnel to search for malfunctions and
restore the proper condition of the system.
Notifications of malfunctions should first make the system user aware that the system is not functioning
properly.
The responsible user must ensure that the proper functioning of the system is restored as quickly as possible.
They must ensure:

that the cause of the malfunction is detected and assessed

that the malfunctions are corrected by competent personnel.
For electrically operated doors, note the attached control unit function description.
10.3 Malfunctions and remedies
The following malfunctions can be corrected by trained operating personnel:


The door stops without a detectable
cause while closing.
Raise the door approx. 50 cm and then stop it with the STOP button. If
normal closing operation is not possible after that, contact customer
service.
The anti-drop device engages at too high
a speed when there is a failure of
components.
Have the following components checked by a qualified individual: lifting
chains, drive chains, drive motors, all of the fall arrestors, support rails.
Only for HT40! The fall arrestors are attached to the header piece of the
bottom door panel: If the slot is enlarged to a length of more than 60mm
or if there is visible damage, the header piece should be replaced.
All other malfunctions must be handled by authorised service personnel.
