11 Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible Cause
Remedy
The machine does not start. The motor is not supplied
with the correct voltage.
• Check the power supply.
Corrosion between the rotor
and the housing.
• Eliminate by use of anti-
corrosion liquid.
• Repair the machine (con-
tact Busch).
Solid foreign matter has
entered the machine.
• Remove the solid foreign
matter or repair the ma-
chine (contact Busch).
• Install an inlet screen if
necessary.
Ice in the machine, the oper-
ating liquid has frozen.
• Carefully warm up the
machine.
• Defrost the operating li-
quid.
The motor is defective.
• Replace the motor.
Water level too high inside
when starting
• Start with the water level
specified.
Packing gland too tight
• Loosen the gland ad-
equately.
Belt too tight
• Loosen the belt ad-
equately.
Wear developing in the
pump
• Turn the impeller with
force and flush with wa-
ter.
Discharge pressure too high
• Make sure the vent line is
free of restrictions and is
at least same size as
pump connection.
Pump trip
If seized during commission-
ing, welding slag or other
foreign matter may have
been drawn in from new
pipes with incoming gas.
• Flush the machine and
check rotation by hand. If
trouble persists, contact
Busch.
Heavy lime deposit build-up
• Flush the machine and
check rotation by hand. If
trouble persists, contact
Busch.
Discharge pressure too high
• Make sure the vent line is
free of restrictions.
