Cleaning of the wood stoves ceramics/sandstone/soapstone
All you need to clean these components is cold water and a
micro fibre cloth.
Please note: Sandstone and soapstone are natural products
that can, due to their natural mineral content, change in
colour over time. This discoloration can in some cases be
remedied with commercially available special detergents.
The combustion chamber should be cleaned regularly of ex-
cess ash. Please note that a layer of ash (2–3 cm bed of
ashes) should always remain in the wood stove.

The window of the Bullerjan B² flex is easy to clean with a lint
free cloth and household glass cleaner. In case of a strong
degree of pollution, commercially available special stove window
cleaners are also suitable.

General information concerning possible malfunctions
of any type of wood fireplace and their remedies
A whole lot of soot gets left on the viewing window
Slight soot covering on the glass pane is inevitable and in -
creases a little with each firing. Excess soot on the glass
has mainly three different causes:
The wood is too damp. This leads to unclean combustion with
high smoke formation.
The ember bed has a much too low temperature, which results
in excessive amount of smoke during reloading and a poor
draught in the flue pipe.
Incorrect handling, such as: The combustion air supply is
incorrectly set.
Check the moisture content of the wood, ensure that you
have a good bed of embers and possible read through the
ignition instructions (see item 2) once again.
Temporary smoke odour in the vicinity of the stove:
This can occur due to weather-related pressure in the
chimney and usually happens in a specific wind direction.
Should this occur too frequently, consult your chimney builder
about the possibility to remedy this effect.
Handling: Please also pay attention, never to open the
stove
door in a jerking manner!
The thereby resulting under
pressure can draw smoke into the installation room. First, open
the door lock carefully and wait until the fire has adjusted to the
new air supply situation (2–3 seconds). You can now slowly
open the door.
Discoloration of painted parts
The discoloration of painted parts is due to a exceedingly high
temperature in the wood stove. The reason for the excessive
temperature can be due to a permanent exceeding of the max -
imum permitted amount of wood, or the use of unsuitable fuel
(e.g. pallet scraps, large amounts of thin waste wood, etc.), or
else a much too high chimney draught.
The warranty does not cover self inflicted damages of this nature.
