2.2 Combustion air regulation
The combustion chamber of the B² flex
is
supplied
with combustion air through a central, controllable air inlet
at the back of the wood stove. This air is then supplied to
the fire via the air inlet ducts positioned at the sides
of the combustion chamber and via the openings in the rear
wall of the wood stove. Furthermore, the combustion
chamber is supplied with combustion air via the window wash
ventilation, which efficiently delays the soiling of the viewing
window.
Please use the combustion air controller to adjust the supply of
combustion air to fit the respective operating phase. The
controller is centrally located under the door of the wood
stove and has three distinct marks, with the aid of which you
can carry out the exact setting in accordance with the
following three operati ng phases.
1.
Ignition phase
(wood stove is not at operating temperature):
Pull the controller fully towards you – the air supply is now fully
open.
2.
Operating phase
(the wood stove has reached the operating
temperature):
Reduce the air supply by pushing the slider back into the wood
stove, until the mark (situated in the middle of the slider) closes
evenly with the stove front.
3.
Keeping the ember
(or the wood stove is out of operation):
If the controller is pushed in fully and aligns with the oven
front, the combustion chamber is no longer supplied with fresh
air. Please use this setting only if the stove is inoperative or
after the fuel is completely burned and only embers (no
flames) are visible in in the stove.
Warning: Do not close the air supply fully while the fire is
burning!
If you fully close the combustion air supply whilst the
fire is burning, this may lead to malfunctions – in the worst
case to a flue gas deflagration.

Cleaning/Maintenance

.1.1 Care and cleaning in general
The combustion chamber, all air supply channels in the
combustion chamber as well as the connecting pieces to
the chimney must be cleaned in the event of soiling, but at
least once during and after the heating season. For this
work we recommend the use of a commercially available
ash vacuum cleaner.
Lever for keeping the combustion chamber door in
a fixed
position
A steel rail is located on the lower inner side of the
combustion chamber door for limiting the door opening
angle and to keep the combustion chamber door in a fixed
position for cleaning purposes.
In order to lock the door in a fixed position, open
it completely and pull the steel rail slightly towards you.
Now when you slightly close the door, the rail locks into
place and holds the door open. In order to disable this fixing,
open the door completely and lightly push the steel rail back
to its origi-nal position. This device facilitates the cleaning
of the combus-tion chamber and the viewing glass. It may
only be used when the wood stove is not in operation.
