Removing and Replacing a DDR3 module

If your memory configuration requires the removal of a module, perform the following
steps:

Make sure the power switches for the computer, video monitor and any

peripheral devices are turned OFF and unplug the power cord (see

“General

Safety Information” on page 96

Disconnect the monitor and peripheral devices (printers, for instance) from the

system.

Remove the server cover. Refer to

“Removing the Left Side Door” on page 98

Locate the memory upgrade sockets on the motherboard. Refer to

“Memory

Configuration” on page 29

Open the levers at both ends of the socket.
