NovaScale Blade 2040 Installation and User’s Guide

Complete the following steps to install the SCSI storage expansion unit:

1.

Review the information in “General Safety” and “Electrical Safety” beginning on page iii and
“Installation guidelines” on page 19.

2.

Shut down the operating system, turn off the blade server, and remove the blade server from the
system chassis (see “Removing the blade server from the system chassis” on page 19 for
instructions).

3.

Carefully lay the blade server on a flat, non-conductive surface. Remove the blade server cover.

a.

Press the cover release button (A) and open the blade server cover (see “Opening the blade
server cover” on page 20 for instructions) and lift it off the blade server.

b.

Store the cover in a safe place.

4.

Locate the SCSI connector (A) on the system board and remove the terminator from the
connector.
