Loop prevention Spanning tree
Operation when
loop detected
This disables the port for a preset
length of time.
After the preset time has elapsed,
the disabled port is enabled.
This automatically blocks
the port and switches the
communication route.
Loop removal
method
Manual
Communication can be
performed temporarily while the
port is disabled.
Except when storm control is
enabled, communication cannot
be performed until the loop is
removed.
Automatic
Communication is
disconnected while
switching the path.

Small-scale networks Large and medium-
