Disconnect Electronic Control Module (ECM) from

Breakout Box. Using a DVOM, check resistance between

Breakout Box terminals “18” (Gray) and “26” (Gray).

Disconnect Crankshaft Position

Sensor. Check for continuity

between Breakout Box terminals

“18” (Gray) and “26” (Gray).

Is resistance greater than 1.0 ohm ?

Replace

Crankshaft

Position

Sensor.

Repair

short

between

circuits.

Above 1500

Ohms.

YES

Disconnect Crankshaft Position Sensor.

Check for continuity between Breakout

Box terminal “18” (Gray) to crankshaft

position sensor connector [79B] terminal

“1”.

Check for continuity between Breakout

Box terminal “26” (Gray) to crankshaft

position sensor connector [79B] terminal

“2”.

Is resistance greater than 1.0 ohm ?

Replace

Crankshaft

Position

Sensor.

Locate

and repair

open

circuit.

Above 1500

Ohms.

Disconnect Crankshaft

Position Sensor.

Check for continuity

between connector [79B]

terminal “1” and Ground.

Check for continuity

between connector [79B]

“2”. Measure AC voltage

output of the sensor

while cranking engine.
