2.1 CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS
When the Exchange receives a call from EP, the display
shows the NUMBER and NAME of the station making
the call (
only if entered in the EXTERNAL
DIRECTORY ).
●
To answer the call from EP lift the handset;
●
the display shows the Talking mode with the EP.
This message is displayed throughout the conversation
(
maximum 1 minute
).
●
press the button to put the EP on hold. The
Exchange display shows the message – Select
internal - ( the EP cannot hear the conversation between
the IU and the Exchange in any way )
●
the IU required can now be selected using one of the
following modes:
1. dial the number or code of the IU to which the call is
to be put through on the keyboard and press the
button
2. scroll the extension phone book by means of the
buttons and confirm the IU with the ok button
3. ( only in standard mode ) type any button on the
Exchange keypad to go to the Search by name pro-
cedure ( sect. 2.2.4 ). When the IU required has been
found press the button.
When the IU called lifts the door entry unit handset, it
starts to talk to the Exchange (
a flashing “ A ” appears on
the EP display
);
●
the operator can now:
1. put the call through to the IU, hanging up (
the EP
and IU start to talk to each other and the exchange
cannot hear their conversation in any way
);
2. continue the conversation with the EP by pressing
the button.
