1.3 Analogue scale sampling
1.3.1
Setup Menu/Scale/Sampling/Run
Scale sampling consists in calibrating the instrument. This is required whenever it was not possible
to be done when the scale was built or when mechanical or electronic pieces are replaced.
The sampling procedures have been developed based on different requirements which can be
encountered.
Standard
sampling
This is the procedure recommended for the majority of weighing systems. To
carry it out, you must have sample weights or a known weight available. When
performing sampling, use precision sample weights compatible with the class
and capacity of the instrument.
Full scale zero
To be used in linear weighing systems.
A sample weight is required for sampling the full scale value. Proceed as follows:
make sure there are no weights on the scale.
press RUN to execute zero sampling.
by means of the option CHANGE, set the full scale weight value
(corresponding to the sample weight value) (to enter a number, see the
chapter Using the terminal in the user manual)
position the sample weight on the scale
press RUN to sample the full scale value
Linearised at one point, Linearised at two points.
To be used in systems with a more or less emphasised non-linearity. Aside from
sampling zero and the full scale value, it also samples valid intermediate points
both for the ascent and descent of the Real weight/Measured weight curve.
At least two sample weights are required for linearised sampling at one point,
one for sampling the intermediate value and the other for sampling the full scale
value.
At least 3 sample weights are required for linearised sampling at two points, one
for sampling the 1st intermediate value, the second for sampling the 2nd
intermediate value and the 3rd for sampling the full scale value.
The procedure (indicated on the display) is the same as for sampling the Full
Scale Zero, with the only difference that, in this case, more than one point must
be sampled.
Hysteresis correction at one point, Hysteresis correction at two points.
To be used in systems with a hysteresis. Aside from sampling zero and the full
scale value, it also samples different intermediate points for the ascent and
descent of the Real weight/Measured weight curve.
At least 2 sample weights are required for the hysteresis correction at 1 point,
one for sampling the 1st intermediate point, and the other to add to the first for
sampling the full scale value.
Removing the weights in inverse order samples the descent.
At least 3 sample weights are required for the hysteresis correction at two points,
one for sampling the 1st intermediate point, the second to add to the 1st for
sampling the 2nd intermediate point, the third to add to the first two for sampling
the full scale value.
