Cables and Plugs

4.1.1

Single-ended Input

For connection of single-ended types of vibration transducer to the preamplifiers, the
single-screened, coaxial cables listed in

are available. These are fitted with

suitable, miniature plugs and have a special noise reduction treatment to help mini-
mise triboelectric noise when subjected to mechanical excitation. In humid and wet
environments, the use of TEFLON

®

-insulated cables is recommended as PVC-insulat-

ed types can absorb moisture.

Table 4.1 Screened cables for connection to single-ended transducers

Microplug Type JP 0012 may be connected to the TNC input of the preamplifiers
using the supplied Adaptor Type JJ 0207. Type JJ 0207 is shown in

and con-

nects the accelerometer housing via the cable screens to the positive pole of the
preamplifier input and housing, thus completing the measurement system signal/
ground line.
