1. Remove the air filter access door
by unscrewing the quarter-turn
fastener.
2. Unlatch the air filter cover and re-
move the air filter.
3. The filter fits tightly over the outlet
tube and there will be some initial
resistance.
1. Gently move the end of the fil-
ter back and forth to break the
seal.
2. Rotate while pulling straight
out.
3. Avoid
knocking
the
filter
against the housing.

1. Inspect the filter for any signs of
leaks. A streak of dust on the clean
side of the filter is a telltale sign.
Replace filter if there is any dam-
ages. Eliminate any source of air
leaks before installing a new filter.
2. Clean engine air filter by tapping
out heavy dust from paper ele-
ment, this will allow dirt and dust to
get out of the paper filter.

1. Insert the filter carefully.
1. Seat the filter by hand, making
certain it is inserted completely
into the air cleaner housing.
2. Apply pressure by hand at the
outer rim of the filter, not the
flexible center.
2. Inspect and carefully clean gasket
in the groove of the cover. Replace
if damaged.
3. Secure air filter cover with latches.
