Now return to the menu 3 to set the correct frequency and proceed as necessary.
CFV
For best use of the vibrator with the CFV controller, and for totally automatic control of acceleration-
frequency, it is good practice to run a calibration every time you connect the controller to a new vibrator.
Calibration is efficient only if the SRV02 probe is also inserted in the system. Otherwise, when calibration is
launched, the controller detects that the probe is missing and puts the device in default configuration. (F =
100Hz and disabled probe).
They are two type of calibration:
Calibration 0 or fixed frequency calibration (selected by user). CAL 0 > 1
The controller performs a series of calculations to optimize vibrator response to commands from the
keyboard or the external 0-10 V.
Calibration 1 or full calibration. CAL 1 > 1
The controller begins with the highest frequency (140 Hz) and decreases it until it reaches the resonance
frequency of the vibrator. The controller then performs a series of calculations and checks which will then be
used in “Calibrated Tracking” mode (Menu 4).
In the example in Fig. 8, the controller has determined 53 Hz as the resonance frequency after calibration. If
the controller is kept in Fixed Tracking, it will maintain a frequency of 53 Hz whereas if Calibrated Tracking
mode is engaged (Menu 4), the frequency may change according to the characteristics of the vibrator in
order to keep acceleration at a constant rate.

ATTENTION: Before running automatic calibration, contact the controller supplier or carefully read the
procedure described below.
CALIBRATION SETTING PROCEDURE
To correctly run the Automatic Calibration procedure, you have to set the maximum value (AM). This is
necessary on low frequency vibrators where there may be contact between the fixed part and the mobile part
of the vibrator during calibration. On vibrators that run at higher frequencies, i.e. at 100 Hz, maximum
acceleration can be left at the default value (25.6). With these vibrators, you can go directly to “performing
calibration.”
Calibration is correctly performed as follows:
1) Check that the probe is physically connected to the vibrator and the controller (calibration cannot be
performed if the probe is not present)
2) Set probe presence on
Menu 10
(ACC = 1).
