(1) Turn the ADF & document cover ASSY

*1

 or document cover ASSY

*2

 upright and slightly

lift it up.

(2) At each of the ADF hinges, insert the tip of a flat screwdriver into the slit provided at the

front of the ADF hinge and push the latch on the document scanner cover to the front to
release the latch from the ADF hinge, then pull the ADF & document cover ASSY

 or

document cover ASSY

 up and out of the document scanner unit.

(3) Slightly turn the ADF hinges and remove them from the ADF & document cover ASSY

Assembling Note:

  When mounting the ADF & document cover ASSY

 or document cover

ASSY

*2

 on the document scanner cover, put a magazine or a stack of paper about one inch (2 to

3 cm) thick between them to secure room for looseness of harnesses. Do not use the one that
may scratch or contaminate the scanner glass.
