EEPROM CUSTOMIZING CODES

This function allows you to customize the EEPROM according to language, function settings, and

firmware switch settings.

Customizing codes come with the firmware data provided by Brother Industries.

Operating Procedure

MFC620CN/425CN/420CN/410CN/215C/210C and FAX2440C
(1) Press the

Menu/Set

and

Black

Start

keys. Next press the key four times to make the

machine enter the maintenance mode.

The machine beeps for approx. one second and displays "

" on the

LCD.

(2) Press the

and

keys in this order in the initial stage of the maintenance mode.

The current customizing code appears (e.g., 0001 in the case of MFC210C U.S.A. model).

(3) Enter the desired customizing code (e.g., 0002 in the case of MFC210C Canadian model).

The newly entered code appears.

NOTE: If a wrong 4-digit code is entered, the machine will malfunction.

(4) Press the

Black

Start

key.

The machine saves the setting and returns to the initial stage of the maintenance mode.
If you press the

Stop/Exit

key or no keys are pressed for one minute in the above procedure,

the machine stops the procedure and returns to the initial stage of the maintenance mode.

DCP315CN/310CN/120C/117C/115C/110C
(1) Press the

Menu

and

Mono

Start

keys. Next press the key four times to make the machine

enter the maintenance mode.

The machine beeps for approx. one second and displays "

" on the

LCD.

(2) Start customizing the EEPROM (with Function code 74) by using the and

Set

keys as

follows:

Press

the

key several times to display 7 on the LCD and then press the

Set

key. Again press

the key several times to display 4 and then press the

Set

key

The current customizing code appears (e.g., 0004 in the case of DCP110C).

(3) Enter the desired customizing code by using the and

Set

keys as follows:

To enter 0007, for example, press the key several times to display 0 on the LCD and then

press the

Set

key. In the same way, enter 0, 0, and 7.

The newly entered code appears.

NOTE: If a wrong 4-digit code is entered, the machine will malfunction.

(4) Press the

Mono

Start

key.

The machine saves the setting and returns to the initial stage of the maintenance mode.
If you press the

Stop/Exit

key or no keys are pressed for one minute in the above procedure,

the machine stops the procedure and returns to the initial stage of the maintenance mode.
